DIY: Personalized Stationary

* Pictures taken on Ipad, monogram does not look blurry in person when printed off of word*

I can never seem to find a card or stationary set that I like. Since I have been doing so much networking lately, I have been writing lots of thank you notes. I ran out of the stationary that I normally use. Yesterday I went to buy more and learned that they were out of stock...figures! So I settled for a generic plain card. When I got home I decided I had some time on my hands so why not spice it up and create my own personal monogramed stationary out of the generic ones I bought.

If you can't find a plain stationary like the one I bough from Paper Source go to your favorite craft store and pick out some cute pieces of scrapbooking paper. Cut fold over to make a card whatever size you want.

I made a quick and easy monogram on Word and printed it out on some nice off white card stock. I used a strip of light pink scrapbooking paper to add an extra design element. I used a hot glue gun to attach the monogram and strip of paper. It took all of about 20 minutes and made the cards look so much more personal!

A Day at the Races

We always try to plan our Summer visit to Michigan around the Hydroplane boat races. This is a family tradition started years ago when my grandpa used to participate in the race. I can't say I know much about hydroplane boats but it's always a blast to watch the races from the dock. We also get to go down into the pits to see the teams and my grandpas boat that is on display!

Girls Night

My Grandma and Aunts have a weekly
Girls night and while I was in town, I got an invite. We went out to dinner in town and them came back home to hang out with my aunts adorable rescue pup, Carlos!

Wind Blown

Today was the first day of a much needed mini vacation to visit family in Michigan. We had the most perfect day out on Lake St. Clair.

To make the day even better, I received an internship offer from one my dream company, Skirt PR. I happily accepted the offer and am so excited to start in August!

A Midsummer Snack

In attempts to get back in shape after the holiday weekend I've been getting creative in the kitchen. This is one of my favorite lunch snacks that will usually keep me full for the afternoon.

As my base I used Ezekiel bread from Trader Joes. This is flourless bread and it is so good for you. It is best toasted. I'm a huge avacado fan so that was the first ingredient I added. It gives it a creamyness and helps to fight belly fat. I added tomatoes for freshness. From there I've gotten creative with what else I put on it. My favorite addition was balsalmic. Laughing cow cheese or crumbled Gorgonzola is delish too!

Feelin 22

Yesterday I celebrated my 22nd birthday which to be honest I wasn't too excited about. Despite the fact that I am a little sad about getting older it was still a wonderful day spent with my family and close friends.

We went to dinner at Bonefish grill, which I highly recommend if you have never been. (Get the Bang Bang shrimp, you wont regret it) For the occasion I wore a fun tropical maxi dress that I found at Urban Outfitters on sale! I kept it simple with a J.Crew necklace and Franco Sarto sandals. After dinner my friends stopped by for cupcakes from couture cupcake and wine

I'm also excited about this post because I recently went out on a whim and chopped my hair off. (4 1/2 inches!!) So far I love it and am having lots of fun trying out different styles.
